Board Certification and Society Memberships

Dr Michelow's extensive training and experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery ranks him among the most qualified surgeons in the nation. Dr. Michelow is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the prestigious American Association of Plastic Surgeons. Membership of the latter association is extended to an elite group of plastic surgeons who are recognized by their peers to have made important contributions to the art and science of plastic surgery.

Dr. Michelow serves on the Policy and Payment Committee of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is an executive member of the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Hospital Affiliations

Dr. Michelow is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is Division Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Euclid Hospital and is affiliated with Hillcrest and South Pointe Hospitals, which are hospitals within the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Post-Graduate Fellowship Training

Dr. Michelow has completed post-graduate fellowship training in surgery of the breast including breast reconstruction, microsurgery and peripheral nerve surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, and maxillofacial/cosmetic surgery. Dr. Michelow trained at the University of the Witswaterland in South Africa; Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio; University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio; and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. He is author and co-author of a number of book chapters and more than 50 peer reviewed articles. He collaborated on a textbook on breast reconstruction. He has presented his research at national and international meetings and congresses.

Dr. Michelow's contributions to plastic surgery education, research and training of colleagues have been recognized by several organizations and awards.
